Garage India ("we", "our", "us") operates the Garage India mobile application (the "App") designed for automotive workshop management. We are committed to protecting the privacy of workshop owners, managers, and their employees. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our App.
1. Data We Collect and How We Use It
We process data with privacy-first principles. Most operational data lives exclusively on your mobile device. The details are split below:
Account Authentication & Profile Data: To create an account and sign in, you must provide your mobile number. We verify this number using Firebase Authentication via an OTP (One-Time Password) SMS. Your mobile number, workshop name, email, address, and profile settings are stored securely on our backend servers to configure your workspace.
Workshop Operational Data (Local-Only): Customer contact information, vehicle registration numbers, job cards, services performed, inventory lists, technician allocations, and invoices are stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage (device keychains and AsyncStorage). This data is never sent to our servers, and we have no access to it.
Payment Data: Subscription billing is managed through Razorpay. If you purchase a premium plan, your billing name and mobile number are shared with Razorpay to send a payment link. We do not store or process your credit/debit card numbers, bank accounts, or UPI credentials. All transactions are handled securely by Razorpay in compliance with PCI-DSS.
Device Permissions: The App requests the following permissions for specific functions:
Camera & Photos: Needed to take or upload a custom logo for your workshop which is rendered on printed invoices. Logos are stored locally.
Notifications: Needed to show push reminders and updates for subscriptions and workspace activities.
Internet access: Required for OTP login, subscription payments, and initiating customer communication.
2. Third-Party Integrations
To provide core services, the App integrates with the following trusted third-party providers:
Firebase Authentication (Google LLC): Used to verify your identity via SMS OTP. Firebase Auth collects phone numbers and device signatures for security. See Firebase Privacy Statement.
Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd.: Process payments and subscriptions. Razorpay handles transaction data securely. See Razorpay Privacy Policy.
WhatsApp API (Meta Platforms, Inc.): Used when you manually click to share invoices or updates with customers. The messages are composed by you and sent through your native WhatsApp account.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share information to provide the service (i.e. Firebase Auth for login, Razorpay for payments) or if required by law to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process in India.
4. Data Security
We implement robust security measures to protect your data:
Authentication data sent to our servers is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL/TLS) technology.
Workspace data on your mobile device is locked behind device-level sandbox protection.
However, because the majority of your records (invoices, customer details) are stored on your device, we cannot recover them if your device is lost or stolen. We recommend taking periodic device backups.
5. Data Retention, Deletion, and Deactivation
We retain your account profile (mobile number, garage name) as long as your workspace is active.
Delete Device Data: You can wipe all local operational data instantly by navigating to Settings > Clear Workspace Data or by uninstalling the App.
Delete Account Data: To permanently delete your profile, phone number, and backend metadata, you can submit a deletion request online at https://garage.ifarmertechnologies.com/account-delete or email us directly at support@ifarmertechnologies.com. We will process your request and permanently delete your account within 7–10 business days.
6. Children's Privacy
Our App is a B2B productivity tool designed for business use by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover we have collected information from children, we will delete it immediately.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
